The 2nd annual Step FWD Awards – The UK’s definitive Christian & Gospel Music Awards

With the countdown underway to voting closing next Saturday 22nd, both Public and Judges have been enthusiastically casting votes by the hundreds for the winner of Song of The Year 2022! Hardly a surprise, as the UK Christian and Gospel scene is filled with incredibly talented artists with so much talent and variety, there truly is something on offer for everyone.

Despite the diverse array of Christian Chart topping tracks to choose from with 126 songs listed as having reached the top of their category between August 2021 and July 2022, voting could not be made simpler. The Step FWD media team have curated all the top tracks into convenient playlists that introduce the nominees in short snippets by category, designed to remind you of the song choices and featured artists.

Rather than limit participation to one time only, you can cast a vote once every 24 hours giving an opportunity to show some love and support for your favourite artist(s) over and over again (Voting Deadline – 22nd October 2022). And what better than joining the Step FWD Awards celebration this November to find out for yourself who is the overall winner! You may even get a chance to see your favourite artist perform on the night as we have an ever-growing amazing lineup. The atmosphere is guaranteed to be filled with excitement as the winner of the hotly anticipated accolade – Song of the Year – is revealed!

The ‘Dove meets Stellar’ event will be held on 26th November in the beautiful Gaumont State Theatre (Ruach City Church), London. This definitive UK Christian and Gospel music awards will honour 40+ years of legacy whilst celebrating the ‘best of British’ talent from the last twelve months. The 12 SONG OF THE YEAR categories are:

Contemporary Worship | Contemporary Gospel | RnB / Soul | Electronic / Dance
ChillHop / LoFi | Indie / Folk / Acoustic | Afrobeat | Rap | Reggae | Pop
Poetry / Spoken Word | Rock / Metal
Voting is open until midnight Saturday 22nd October 2022, with all 150+ Judges and the Public getting the chance to have their final say with the overall favourite becoming Song of the Year. Other music awards on the night will include Duo/Group, New Artist, Male and Female, Collaboration and Video of the Year to name a few.

A big highlight of the night will be the honouring of many individuals, who across the decades have paved the way for the current generation, the giants on whose shoulders the Christian music industry of today stands. Some Outstanding Contribution recipients shall be announced in advance, along with Lifetime Achievement and Legacy Awards on the night.

Step FWD Awards founder O’Neil Dennis noted, “The past year has been an extremely significant one for creatives and indeed for us.
