[Music + Video] Immanuel – Wole Awolola

Following the release of his first ever gospel Afrobeat, Wole Awolola now releases another first ever – a Christmas single titled IMMANUEL.

In this yet-another-well-produced track in collaboration with Mr Eff, Wole tells succinctly of how the birth and arrival of baby Jesus in the manger was the greatest event ever to happen to humanity, in that God came to physically live with man.

The simple but artistically written verses and chorus are interjected with a quote from the scriptures where the name Immanuel is first mentioned –Isaiah 7:13– and the chorus of the popular Christmas hymn, “O come all ye faithful”.

Served on a well-blended fusion of Afrobeat and RnB , Wole renders a soulful delivery with his rich, smooth vocals for which he is well known. In keeping with the high quality of production, Wole accompanies it with an equally top-quality video, shot by the multi-talented and dynamic Christian rap artist, Snatcha, featuring his beloved son, a young lady who is more like a daughter to him and dear friends.

The song has received many positive reviews from critics, playlist curators, Radio and TV presenters including UK’s KICC TV and Premier Gospel Radio and a number of gospel music pundits.

This is another song to add to your annual Christmas songs playlist.

LYRIC – IMMANUEL

Verse
It was the start of the greatest mystery
God’s perfect plan before the beginning
All just because his love for us is deep
He would be found with mortal man
All because so we can live

Pre-chorus
He left his throne
To save his own
And this we know
He is enthroned

Chorus
Immanuel.
Yes, our God is with us
Is with us forevermore
Immanuel.
And he lives within us
Within us forevermore

Verse 2
Conceived and birthed from a virgin womb
In a lowly manger since there was no room
The King of kings he chose to arrive
Oh hallelujah, sing!
God has come to man

Pre-chorus 2
The Angels sing
Glory to God
Favour and peace
He brings to all

Chorus
Immanuel.
Yes, our God is with us
Is with us forevermore
Immanuel.
And he lives within us
Within us forevermore

Bridge
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given
And the government shall be upon his shoulders
Add his name shall be called
Wonderful counsellor, mighty God, everlasting Father
And the greatness of his government
There will be no end

Oh come let us adore him
Oh come let us adore him
Oh come let us adore him
Christ the Lord

Chorus
Immanuel.
Yes, our God is with us
Is with us forevermore
Immanuel.
And he lives within us
Within us forevermore
